9, 2002 - 4Developers LLC announces Talking E-mail 4.0
Listen to Your E-mails and Reminders Instead of Reading Them! Sunnyvale, CA (January 9, 2002) - 4Developers LLC has released Talking E-mail 4.0, a Windows 9x/2000/Me/XP program that enables you to listen to your incoming E-mail messages as they arrive, via animated characters. Using nothing more than your E-mail account and sound card, Talking E-mail's easy-to-understand voice will read aloud your E-mails, whether they're in plain text or HTML. When an E-mail message arrives, an animated character pops up on the screen and starts reading the message. Talking E-mail is highly customizable, allowing you to specify if you want to hear who sent the message, its subject, and how many lines of the message should be read. You can stop the character at any time, or keep listening while you are working. You can even launch your default E-mail program and reply to the message. Talking E-mail's advanced rules system allows you to specify the behavior of the character and what he will say when a message arrives from a specific individual. A variety of animations, sounds, and other settings is available, adding fun and practicality. Talking E-mail includes a Talking Clock feature, which allows you to keep track of time and a Talking Clipboard feature, which allows you to listen to text from Web pages, Word documents or any other Windows application. Version 4.0 adds exciting new features, including support for Talking Reminders. You can set up Talking E-mail to remind you about birthdays, meetings, special events or anything else you don't want to forget. Reminders can be setup to recur on a daily, weekly, monthly or annual basis. When Talking E-mail needs to remind you about something, the character pops-up on your desktop and reads the reminder. You can specify which animation and sound file will play when a reminder is read, and whether you'll need to manually dismiss it. Talking E-mail costs $19.95 and can be ordered securely online. A free trial version is also available for download. |

24, 2001 - 4Developers LLC announces Net Snippets 1.0
New
Software Gives Internet Users the Freedom to Clip, Organize and
Annotate Web Information. Sunnyvale,
CA (July 24, 2001) - Finding information and filing it away for later
reference is one of the primary reasons people surf the Web. Yet the
Web browser that most people use provides very primitive tools for
saving and organizing all those useful bits of information that we
find on the Internet. Net
Snippets™, a new program from software developer 4Developers LLC,
now gives Internet users the ability to clip, organize and annotate
Web Information in a natural, intuitive way right inside their
favorite browser. Users can download Net Snippets for a thirty-day
free trial directly from the 4Developers website (www.4dev.com/ns/). Net
Snippets is so effective because it becomes an integral part of the
browser that most people use to surf the Web. Appearing to the user as
another feature within Internet Explorer, Net Snippets' user interface
is similar to the "Favorites" bar on the left-side of the
familiar Internet Explorer display. Net
Snippets, however, provides more flexibility and more persistence than
old-fashioned website bookmarks. By simply dragging selected
information to Net Snippets, users can choose to save all or part of a
web page, add their own notes, highlight text, save images, or
eliminate ads and other "junk" content before saving. And
unlike simple bookmarks, which may lead to Web pages that are no
longer in existence, Net Snippets permanently stores Internet
clippings in a "My Snippets" folder on the user's PC for
future reference. Managing
information with Net Snippets is simple and intuitive. Users create,
move, rename and re-organize their own hierarchy of folders using the
same familiar browser interface that they use for bookmarked Web
pages. Net Snippets also allows the user to drag content from other
popular Windows programs, such as Outlook Express and MS Word, and
organize that information in one convenient location. Because
there are no new commands or interfaces to master, anyone who uses the
Internet Explorer Web browser can immediately begin managing Internet
information with Net Snippets. The product has already been
successfully used by pre-production "beta customers" that
range from business and technology professionals, to high-school
students, retirees and other recreational Web surfers. "As
a writer and business consultant, I use the Internet every day to
locate data, quotes and other information that I will need for
upcoming projects," said Spencer Horowitz, a Net Snippets beta
customer in San Jose, California. "Net Snippets allows me to
capture Web information with a single key-stroke, immediately add my
own thoughts about the information's relevance, and then save it into
a folder system that I have organized by client -- all without leaving
my browser. Net Snippets is a very effective productivity tool for
anyone who uses the Internet to find information."

30, 2001 - 4Developers LLC releases COM Explorer 2.0
Sunnyvale (April 30, 2001) - 4Developers LLC, a leading developer of ActiveX/COM tools, today launched COM Explorer 2.0 - a unique tool specifically designed to help developers and System Administrators to explore, manage and repair COM files. COM, Microsoft's component technology is based on binary components which are used as the building blocks of Windows applications. Once installed the management of these entities becomes extremely difficult. Component configuration stored in the Registry can only be accessed via REGEDIT, a time consuming operation. Identification of controls with missing files is almost impossible. Simple operations such as registering and unregistering controls need to be done using a primitive command line tool (REGSVR32). COM Explorer's professional interface enables users to view, manage and repair ActiveX Controls, DLL Servers and EXE Servers with a single mouse click. The software provides a centralized view of COM objects as well as detailed information such as GUID, TypeLib, version and file information. Misbehaved objects such as objects with missing files left as junk in the Registry are clearly marked. A Registry editor is fully integrated, allowing you to view and edit COM settings. Also included is a dependency viewer which allows you to view all the DLL dependencies for a COM object and clearly marks missing DLL files to allow quick detection of "bad" installations. COM Explorer is tightly integrated with Windows Explorer, enabling to you quickly register, unregister and view COM controls with a single mouse click. An inventory report generator allows you to easily generate HTML reports that include a list of the COM objects installed. The report generator supports strong filtering and customization options. COM Explorer substantially reduces the complexity of identifying COM related problems developers and system administrators face every day. It runs on Windows 95/98/NT/2000/Me. A 30-day fully functional trial version of COM Explorer can be downloaded from http://www.4dev.com/com/ The product can be ordered online, by phone and mail for $150 (Single License), $450 (Site License) and $950 (Corporate License). |

March 19, 2001 - Support FetchDog 1.0 Released Sunnyvale
(March 19th, 2001) - 4Developers LLC, a leading developer of support
and ActiveX/COM tools, today released Support FetchDog 1.0 - a unique
software product that enables help desks, IT departments, software
developers and other support providers to detect and repair software
errors on a local or remote PC, by allowing them to retrieve the exact
configuration state of that computer. The
Windows operating system consists of different configuration elements
such as DLL files, INI files and Registry settings. Software errors
usually occur when one of these elements is missing or has been
changed. One of the greatest challenges facing support providers is to
determine which element is causing the errors. Since support providers
do not usually have physical access to the faulty computer, and the
user on the other side is often inexperienced, the challenge becomes
even greater. To make it worse, the average software application
depends on hundreds of these configuration elements, making it harder
than finding a needle in a haystack. Support
FetchDog answers this challenge by allowing support providers to
examine a remote or local PC, and determine which configuration
elements are missing or different than expected. It does that without
any pre-installed software on the user’s computer and with minimal
effort from the supported user. Unlike other products, it works
asynchronously, not requiring the support provider and user to remain
online or on the phone. What makes Support FetchDog special is its
ability to create small programs, called "Configuration
Fetchers", which can easily be distributed by E-mail or on the
Web. When a user runs one of these small programs, it generates a
configuration report and sends it back to the support provider by
E-mail. Configuration Fetchers are highly customizable, allowing you to specify how they will interact with the user and which information they should retrieve. They are able to retrieve system information, file information, Registry information and more, covering the entire spectrum of configuration elements that are vulnerable to errors. You can also specify which values you expect to find on the remote computer and be notified if the actual values do not match. Support
FetchDog substantially reduces the complexity of identifying and
repairing software errors which support providers face every day. It
runs on Windows 95/98/NT/2000/Me. A
30-day trial version of Support FetchDog can be downloaded from: http://www.4dev.com/fd/.
The product can be ordered online, by phone and mail for $395 (Single
License), $1295 (Site License) and $2495 (Corporate License). |
